On the POW block:
The
POW block is truly a double-edged sword. It is the worldly manifestation
of pure power, capable of shaking the entire screen, upsetting every player
and enemy with a foot thereupon (the airborne are not affected as there
is no medium through which they would be able to receive the shock.)
Oftentimes it is best to simply dispose of the POW block within the first few seconds of the match. Otherwise it is likely that your opponent will find an opportunity to use it against you, thus resulting in a loss of stature or even death. However, if you are playing with an opponent that does not automatically break for the POW block at the beginning of the turn, it might be best to simply leave it alone until exactly the right moment when you can use it to your advantage.
Remember to always keep an eye on the POW block area. It is easy to forget in the heat of battle that it is sometimes regenerated. If this is the case, you will want to be the one that takes advantage of this. Nothing can throw your opponent off in the middle of a field of enemies like pounding the POW block right as they are preparing to jump to safety.
Sniping Technique:
The makers of Mario Battle must have known they had something special going
on when they introduced the projectile weapon turtle shell into the game.
The addition of this critical gameplay element insured that no one playing
the game would be able to let their defenses down and get away with it
